Terms of Service

Last updated: February 2026

Agreement

By using Fairsy, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

What Fairsy Does

Fairsy is a tool for tracking shared expenses and calculating balances between friends. Fairsy does not process payments, transfer money, or act as a financial institution. When you "settle" a balance in Fairsy, you are recording that a payment was made outside the app — Fairsy is the record, not the payment method.

Your Account

You can use Fairsy as a guest without creating an account. When you do create an account, you are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. You must provide accurate information when creating your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use Fairsy for illegal purposes
• Attempt to access other users' data without authorization
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Create automated accounts or use bots to interact with the service
• Use Fairsy to harass, bully, or harm other users

Your Content

You own your data (expense descriptions, group names, etc.). By using Fairsy, you grant us permission to store and process this data to provide the service. We do not claim ownership of your content.

Accuracy of Financial Records

Fairsy is a tracking tool, not an accounting system. We do our best to calculate balances correctly, but we are not liable for any financial disputes that arise from using the app. You are responsible for verifying that balances and settlements are accurate.

Service Availability

We aim to keep Fairsy available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. The service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses caused by service downtime.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account. Your personal information will be anonymized immediately. Financial records shared with groups will be retained for 30 days for other members, then permanently deleted.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Fairsy if you violate these terms or use the service in a way that harms other users or the platform.

Limitation of Liability

Fairsy is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service (which is currently zero — Fairsy is free).

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Fairsy after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman.
